Reporting to the Production Director, the Production Manager plays a key managerial role within the Production team, overseeing assigned production activities, managing timelines, coordinating with vendors and factories, and ensuring seasonal production stays on track. This role works closely with Design, Technical Design, Product Development, and global manufacturing partners to drive execution and proactively resolve issues throughout the production cycle.

The Production Manager will also support the Production Director with departmental operations, reporting, process management, and strategic production initiatives, while taking ownership of assigned categories, vendors, and production programs.

The ideal candidate is an experienced production professional who brings strong organizational and managerial skills, commercial awareness, and a hands‑on approach to execution. They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, leading vendor communication, solving problems quickly, and holding partners and internal teams accountable to deadlines and quality standards.

The Role

The Production Manager oversees assigned production categories and vendor relationships from development through bulk delivery, ensuring production calendars, materials, approvals, costs, and delivery timelines remain aligned.

Working under the direction of the Production Director, this role manages day-to-day production operations, provides visibility into production status and risks, and ensures timely follow-through across internal teams and manufacturing partners. The Production Manager serves as a key point of contact for assigned vendors and works proactively to identify and resolve issues before they impact the seasonal calendar.

  • Manage the production process for assigned styles, ensuring all required approvals and milestones are completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate production approvals, including pre-production (PP) and Top of Production (TOP) samples.
  • Partner with Technical Design and Product Development to ensure styles are production-ready and aligned with approved specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production status reporting and provide regular updates to the Production Director.
  • Escalate significant production risks, delays, cost issues, or quality concerns with recommended solutions.
  • Manage competing priorities across multiple seasons while maintaining accuracy and urgency.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned domestic and international factories, mills, and suppliers.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned vendors throughout the production cycle.
  • Communicate production expectations, timelines, approvals, and delivery requirements clearly and consistently.
  • Monitor vendor performance against quality, cost, capacity, and delivery expectations.
  • Support pricing and production negotiations in partnership with the Production Director.
  • Hold vendors accountable to agreed-upon timelines and proactively address delays or performance concerns.
  • Develop strong, collaborative vendor relationships while maintaining ALEXIS standards and business objectives.
Purchasing & Material Management
  • Manage purchase orders for raw materials, trims, and production components for assigned programs.
  • Track material commitments, inbound deliveries, and availability to ensure production remains on schedule.
  • Review invoices, shipping documents, purchase orders, and production documentation for accuracy.
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to resolve material shortages, delays, discrepancies, and other production-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organized production records and documentation.
Logistics & Production Coordination
  • Partner with Logistics and Warehouse teams to coordinate inbound and outbound production shipments.
  • Monitor shipping schedules and delivery timelines to support seasonal launches and customer commitments.
  • Assist in resolving freight, customs, and delivery-related issues.
  • Maintain production trackers, calendars, WIP reports, and other operational reporting tools.
  • Coordinate cross-functional follow-up to ensure outstanding production issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Provide the Production Director with clear visibility into production status, upcoming milestones, and potential risks.
Quality & Operational Excellence
  • Collaborate with Quality Control teams and factories to address production and workmanship concerns.
  • Monitor quality issues through resolution and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, vendor performance, communication, and operational processes.
  • Support the Production Director in developing and implementing production processes, systems, and best practices.
  • Contribute to improving departmental organization, reporting, and workflow.
  • Ensure assigned production activities consistently align with ALEXIS quality standards, delivery expectations, and business objectives.
Team & Department Support
