Job summary

Surge Staffing is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the Receiving department. This hands-on role coordinates daily production activities, supervises staff, manages workflow, and ensures schedules, quality, and safety standards are met in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Excel and Word to manage production data and reports.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of manufacturing supervisory or management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience supervising manufacturing employees and coordinating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of employees in Receiving/Production.
  • Develop schedules from work orders to meet internal and customer needs.
  • Determine material and supply requirements based on schedules.
  • Assign work and communicate requirements to employees.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor quality to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Direct employees in adjusting equipment to maintain quality.
  • Establish and adjust procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production methods and equipment.
  • Analyze and resolve production problems; assist with troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and procedures.
  • Monitor department processes for compliance with requirements.
  • Train, coach, and provide direction to employees.
  • Plan and assign work while monitoring performance.
  • Address employee concerns and performance issues.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Communicate production, quality, and operational issues to management.
  • Participate in meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Health, Safety, and Environmental programs.

Production Manager – Receiving

Pay: $65,000–$75,000 per year
Schedule: 1st Shift, 6am-2:30pm
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee operations within the Receiving department. This position is responsible for coordinating daily production activities, supervising employees, managing workflow, ensuring production schedules are met, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have manufacturing leadership experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively manage people and production priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of employees within the Receiving/Production department.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supervising and leading manufacturing employees.
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work instructions, schedules, and business documents.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with management and other departments.
