Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in the United States is seeking a Production Manager to lead manufacturing activities, manage direct reports, and drive attainment of production, quality, safety, inventory and delivery objectives.

You will coordinate schedules, analyze reports (OEE, downtime, waste), implement continuous improvement, and collaborate with the General Manager and Plant Safety Manager to ensure OSHA compliance, strong customer satisfaction, and alignment with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Business or Technical field.
• 5+ years supervisory experience in the corrugated/converting industry.
• Demonstrated lean and continuous improvement experience.
• Effective communication with employees and customers (verbal & written).
• Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement processes and union interactions.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct reports and coordinate manufacturing activities.
• Lead the team to meet production volumes, quality, safety, inventory, customer satisfaction and budgets.
• Review production schedules and adjust priorities as needed due to equipment or customer demands.
• Review and analyze production reports (OEE, downtime, waste) to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement methods to eliminate problems and improve quality.
• Maintain relationships with union and ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Partner with Plant Safety Manager to drive safety programs and ensure OSHA compliance.

The Opportunity:

The Production Manager – will manage direct reports, coordinate manufacturing activities utilizing knowledge of product functions, production methods, procedures and machine and equipment capabilities. You will lead your team in setting the objectives and ensure that these objectives are met. These objectives include, but are not limited to, production volumes, quality, safety, inventory, customer satisfaction, as well as meeting fiscal budgets.

Collaborate with the General Manager in the development and implementation of operating methodsandproceduresdesignedtoeliminateoperatingproblemsandimproveproductquality

Developstrongrelationshipswithkeymembersoftheorganizationtobetterunderstandtheoverall business and upstreamand downstreamconnections topreventpossibledelays in production and shipment and impact on customer satisfaction
