Job summary

Smurfit WestRock is seeking a Production Manager to lead a manufacturing team in our Georgia plant. You will direct daily production activities, drive safety programs, and coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime while meeting quality targets and customer commitments.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience in corrugated/converting, a strong Lean background, and effective communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associated degree or higher in Business/Applied Science (Technical preferred).
• 5+ years supervisory experience in corrugated/converting industry.
• Lean and continuous improvement experience.
• Effective communication with employees and customers (verbal and written).
• Ability to collaborate in challenging situations and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct reports and coordinate manufacturing activities to meet production volumes, quality, safety and budget targets.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure compliance with policies and OSHA regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement and monitor control procedures to prevent downtime and defects.
• Revise production schedules due to equipment issues or last-minute orders; analyze production reports to identify nonconformities.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop methods to prevent delays and improve product quality.
• Develop training opportunities for Production Supervisors and track progress against goals.

The Opportunity:

The Production Manager – will manage direct reports, coordinate manufacturing activities utilizing knowledge of product functions, production methods, procedures and machine and equipment capabilities. You will lead your team in setting the objectives and ensure that these objectives are met. These objectives include, but are not limited to, production volumes, quality, safety, inventory, customer satisfaction, as well as meeting fiscal budgets.

Drivecontinuousimprovementinitiativesandmonitorallcontrolprocedures,recommending improvements to the General Manager as appropriate.

Reviseproductionschedulesandprioritiesasneededbecauseofequipmentfailure,operating problems, or last-minute customer demands.

Reviewandanalyzeproductionreports(OEE,downtime,waste,etc.)todeterminecausesof nonconformity with product specifications, and/or operating or production problems.

Collaborate with the General Manager in the development and implementation of operating methodsandproceduresdesignedtoeliminateoperatingproblemsandimproveproductquality

Developstrongrelationshipswithkeymembersoftheorganizationtobetterunderstandtheoverall business and upstreamand downstreamconnections topreventpossibledelays in production and shipment and impact on customer satisfaction

Ensureall Smurfit WestRockstandardsandcustomercommitments(i.e.,safety,wastereductions,R&A, output, and on-time delivery) are followed within the plant
