Job summary

Wisenbaker Builder Services in Houston seeks a Production Manager to lead day-to-day countertop manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while maintaining high standards and continuous improvement.

You will coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Inventory, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Safety to achieve goals and develop a high-performing team focused on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience considered.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 3 years in a production leadership role.
• Lean Manufacturing principles knowledge and application.
• Experience managing production scheduling, labor planning, and operational performance.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily countertop manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, safety, and delivery goals.
• Execute production schedules balancing labor, equipment capacity, and material availability.
• Monitor daily production performance and adjust resources to changing demands.
• Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while developing tomorrow's leaders.
• Ensure manufacturing aligns with quality standards and procedures.
• Drive reductions in scrap, waste, and downtime through Lean initiatives.
• Use KPIs and metrics to identify trends and improve throughput and labor productivity.
• Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, overtime, and operating expenses with cost-consciousness.

Job Purpose At Wisenbaker, every countertop we manufacture represents a commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Production Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our countertop manufacturing facility, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality. This role oversees all aspects of production, including scheduling, workforce management, equipment utilization, quality, productivity, inventory flow, and continuous improvement. The Production Manager partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Inventory, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Safety to ensure production goals are achieved while developing a high-performing team focused on operational excellence.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead all daily countertop manufacturing operations to ensure production, quality, safety, and delivery goals are consistently achieved.
• Execute production schedules while balancing labor, equipment capacity, and material availability to maximize efficiency.
• Monitor daily production performance and adjust resources as necessary to meet changing business demands.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, and continuous improvement while developing tomorrow's leaders.
• Ensure countertops are manufactured in accordance with company quality standards, customer specifications, and established operating procedures.
• Drive reductions in scrap, rework, waste, and production downtime through Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilize production metrics, KPIs, and operational data to identify trends, improve throughput, and optimize labor productivity.
• Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, overtime, and operational expenses while identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or customer service.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience considered.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 3 years in a production leadership role.
• Countertop, stone fabrication, cabinetry, building products, or related manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience managing production scheduling, labor planning, and operational performance.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Mental stamina is essential.
