About the Role

The Production Manager will oversee all facets of the production process for optical and device assembly, as well as final assembly and packaging. This role includes managing production schedules and planning to ensure optimal efficiency, top-tier quality, and timely product delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in electronic manufacturing and assembly/test processes, alongside strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Oversight:
   • Manage daily operations within optical assembly, device assembly, and final assembly and packaging departments.
   • Ensure compliance with production timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
2. Production Scheduling and Planning:
   • Develop and implement effective production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
   • Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement team to guarantee the availability of materials and components.
3. Team Leadership:
   • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of assembly technicians and production staff.
   • Conduct regular team meetings, establish performance goals, and implement best practices.
4. Process Improvement:
   • Identify potential areas for process enhancement and implement solutions to boost productivity and product quality.
   • Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and streamline production flow.
5. Quality Assurance:
   • Monitor quality control processes to confirm that products meet both company and regulatory standards.
   • Address quality issues in a timely manner and implement corrective actions as needed.
6. Reporting and Analysis:
   • Maintain detailed records of production output, labor utilization, and material usage.
   • Analyze production performance data and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management to facilitate decision-making.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with test engineering to ensure alignment between production goals and product specifications.
   • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes, providing valuable insights on manufacturability and production feasibility.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing or production management, preferably in electronic assembly within a high mix, low volume environment.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of assembly processes, production planning, and quality control standards.
• Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and cultivate a diverse team.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in manufacturing software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, production planning software).
• Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Salary range: $100,000 - $125,000 annual base
