Job summary

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, Lean principles, and continuous improvement to deliver on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Strong communication and Excel/SAP skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; an engineering degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience leading supervisors and manufacturing teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong understanding of operational metrics, continuous improvement, and manufacturing best practices.

Pregis, a global leader in innovative packaging solutions, is seeking a Production Manager to join our Protective Films & Coatings manufacturing facility in Conover, North Carolina. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across a 24/7 manufacturing operation while leading and developing a team of supervisors and approximately 60-70 production employees.

What You'll Do

As Production Manager, you'll provide overall leadership for plant production operations, ensuring excellence in:

• Safety & Environmental Stewardship
• Product Quality & Customer Satisfaction

You'll lead through your supervisors to create a culture focused on safety, performance, engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals
• Champion a world-class safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze KPIs including uptime, throughput, downtime, quality, and labor utilization to identify improvement opportunities
• Develop and execute corrective actions that improve operational performance and reduce waste
• Partner cross-functionally with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Engineering, and other departments
• Drive standardization through SOPs, process controls, and Lean manufacturing principles
• Ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction through efficient production planning and execution
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors while building a strong talent pipeline for the future
• Promote accountability, employee engagement, and performance management throughout the organization
• Support cost savings initiatives that improve profitability and operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and advanced Excel; SAP experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
