Job summary

FPC Franchise seeks a Production Manager for its Porter County, Indiana site with experience in the pulp and paper industry. The role requires leading a 5-person production team including an assistant Production Manager and plant chemist, and coordinating with executives to ensure profitability.

The ideal candidate has a background in paper mills, strong focus on safety and continuous improvement, and relocation assistance is provided to support the move to Indiana.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of production experience in paper mills.
• Experience with multiple paper machines and stock prep systems.
• US Citizen or Green Card holder.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate the entire production process.
• Lead a team of 5 direct reports including assistant Production Managers and plant chemist.
• Assist in capital planning and budget development, adherence, and analysis.
• Maintain a safety-first production environment.
• Evaluate new trends and machinery for deployment in the mill.
• Coordinate with internal and external production stakeholders.
• Report to the onsite GM and work with executives to ensure plant profitability.

Our industry-leading client is hiring a Production Manager for their Porter County, Indiana site due to an internal promotion!

The ideal candidate will come from the pulp & paper industry and have a passion for green products. Consumer trends are driving increased demand towards recycled vs. virgin products, which is bringing growth to the business. This site is smaller for the organization but is their most productive. They make the most product and are proud of it.

This hire will strategize with other internal teams to ensure operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and evaluate the entire production process.
• Lead a team of 5 direct reports including assistant Production Managers and plant chemist.
• Assist in capital planning and budget development, adherence, and analysis.
• Maintain a safety-first production environment.
• Evaluate new trends, including production methods and machinery and personnel development, for deployment within the mill, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with key internal and external production stakeholders.
• Report to the onsite GM and work closely with executive leaders to ensure continued plant profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Pulp & Paper Science highly preferred, or BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 4-6+ years of production experience specifically in paper mills.
• Top candidates will have experience working on multiple paper machines, stock prep systems, and with high mixed waste recycled products.
• US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
