Position Overview

The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of mattress production, from raw materials through finished goods. This includes managing staff, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and meeting delivery deadlines. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing background, proven leadership skills, and experience in high-volume production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the mattress manufacturing facility.
• Lead, train, and motivate production to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, quality control, and company standards.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance as needed.
• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
• Implement continuous initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Prepare and analyze production reports, recommending operational adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of plant or production management experience (mattress, furniture, or related industry preferred).
• Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills.
• Proven track record in improving manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with mattress manufacturing processes (quilting, cutting, assembly, packaging).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and production tracking software.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
