Job description

Knife Drop Studios, the production company behind chef and social media star Nick DiGiovanni, is looking to hire an Operations Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing the logistics and planning of all productions across our channels, ensuring every shoot runs smoothly from concept to completion. You will be the central point of communication between contractors, on-set crew, recipe developers, and the broader team — making sure everyone is aligned and every detail is accounted for. This includes sourcing and managing the best contractors at competitive rates (gaffers, lighting techs, audio engineers, etc.), coordinating production schedules, and handling all logistical elements needed to execute high-quality shoots efficiently.

Note: This is a hybrid position (remote planning with in-person presence in the Boston area on shoot days).

Who we’re looking for

You are an exceptionally organized, detail-oriented operations professional who thrives in fast-paced production environments. You have a strong background in production logistics and know how to coordinate multiple moving parts across teams, vendors, and timelines. You are a natural communicator who can keep everyone — from contractors to creative leads — on the same page. You are comfortable negotiating rates, managing budgets, and building reliable networks of freelance and contract talent. You should have 3+ years of experience in production management, operations, or a related field.

Bonus — you have experience in food media production!

Who you’ll work with

As an Operations Manager, you will work closely with Nick DiGiovanni and the production team to plan and execute shoots across all channels. You will coordinate directly with contractors and vendors including gaffers, lighting techs, audio engineers, set designers, and other freelance crew. You will collaborate with recipe developers to align content timelines, work with on-set talent and crew to ensure seamless shoot days, and communicate with the post-production team to maintain smooth handoffs. You will also work with the broader Knife Drop Studios team on scheduling, budgeting, and long‑term production planning.

What you’ll bring to the team
  • 3-5+ years of experience in production management, operations, or a related logistics-heavy role
  • Proven ability to plan and coordinate multiple productions simultaneously, managing timelines, budgets, and resources
  • Experience sourcing, vetting, and managing freelance contractors and vendors at competitive rates
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to keep multiple teams and stakeholders aligned
  • Strong budget management skills with experience negotiating vendor rates and tracking production expenses
  • Familiarity with production workflows from pre‑production planning through shoot day execution
  • Experience with project management tools and production scheduling software is a strong plus
