Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required; chemical engineering preferred but other disciplines considered (5+ years acceptable).
  • Minimum five years experience in refining or specialty chemicals manufacturing; supervisory experience required.
  • Experience administering a collective bargaining agreement is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills; able to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with pumps, dryers, ventilators, hydraulics, high‑pressure injection, reactors and related process equipment.

The Production Manager is the primary point of contact for all matters concerning day-to-day operations at the Borger, Texas Plant.

  • Achieve production goals by ensuring that the plant operates safely, at target rates, and within acceptable parameters.
  • Lead the plant engineers to develop operating plans and task lists for the operators and other front-line personnel.
  • Drive standardization across shifts, optimize fixed and variable unit costs, improve quality, and work closely with maintenance to ensure that work is completed promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records, process metrics and documentation according to guidelines, and prepare both regular and special reports as needed.
  • Perform regular walk-arounds and inspections to ensure good housekeeping, compliance, hazard recognition, etc.
  • Stand-in for the plant manager when he or she is not available.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. A degree in chemical engineering is preferred; although other disciplines will be considered.
  • At least five years of experience in refining or specialty chemicals manufacturing is required; some of this experience may have been acquired in roles such as production engineer, process engineer, production supervisor, reliability engineer or a similar role.
  • Supervisory experience is required; experience administering a collective bargaining agreement in a union shop is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills are essential; the successful candidate must be versatile and able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with pumps, dryers, ventilators, hydraulics, high-pressure injection, high temperature applications, reactors, and other common types of process equipment is required.
