Seaboard Foods is seeking a Farm Operations Manager to oversee multiple swine production sites. You will manage day-to-day operations and drive production targets while developing farm managers and ensuring SOP compliance across facilities.
You will coordinate with operations leaders, interpret data for decision making, and resolve work-related issues to keep processes efficient and compliant. Local travel may be required to supervise sow farms and staff scheduling.
Duties: Manage the day-to-day operations of the farms and ensure production targets are met. Supervise and develop farm managers for responsible sites. Serve as a link between operations managers and farm managers by handling questions, interpreting and presenting data and helping resolve work-related problems. Audit farms on a weekly basis to ensure employees are complying with all standard operating procedures and facilities are being properly maintained. Advise farm managers on meeting production and cost targets as well as completing and submitting production reports in a timely manner. Create and manage employee work schedules and maintain accurate records of personnel paperwork, including performance reviews and feedback provided to employees. No hire/fire authority.
Requirements: Three years of related swine production experience. Must have at least one year of experience overseeing daily swine operations and directing the work of farm personnel. Must have experience following detailed standard operating procedures. Must have experience managing four or more animal caretakers for sow farms. Must have experience in all processes of swine production from gestation through farrowing and have experience training in vaccination and artificial insemination in swine. Must have experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Must have good written and oral communication skills in English. Local travel required 2-3 times a week.
