Job summary

Seaboard Foods seeks a Sow Farm Supervisor in Perryton, TX to oversee daily farm operations and supervise staff, ensuring production targets are met and animal welfare standards are maintained.

You will direct breeding and selection, monitor disease indicators, manage schedules and timecards, and ensure SOPs are followed. English communication and prior swine production management are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in swine production with hands-on farm experience.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory/management role on a swine farm.
• Experience supervising four or more animal caretakers.
• Experience in gestation through farrowing processes.
• Training in vaccination and artificial insemination in swine.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lb regularly; up to 300 lb occasionally.
• Strong written and spoken English communication.

Job description

Duties:

Supervise a Sow Farm and related personnel including day-to-day tasks of the farm, ensuring production targets are met, and supervising farm employees. Manage the research and control of animal selection, breeding practices to increase production efficiency and improve animal quality. Ensure the care and conditioning of sows on the farm. Direct the breeding and raising of swine using recognized breeding practices. Supervise swine examinations to identify diseases. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and facilities are in good working condition. Meet daily and weekly production targets. Collect and record production data. Complete and submit production analysis reports in a timely manner. Submit orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs. Monitor breeding and grading to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards. Create and manage employee work schedules. Revise and approve timecards and approve PTO, holidays, and sick days for employees. Maintain accurate personnel paperwork, including performance evaluations, and provide constructive and timely feedback to employees. No hire/fire authority

Requirements:

Two years of swine production experience. Experience must include at least one year of management duties on a swine farm, and experience following detailed standard operating procedures. Must have experience managing four or more animal caretakers for sow farms. Must have experience in all processes of swine production from gestation through farrowing and have experience training in vaccination and artificial insemination in swine. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Must have good written and oral communication skills in English.
