Job summary

NTM is seeking a Production Manager in Aurora, CO to ensure safe, timely, and cost-efficient manufacturing objectives. You will lead department operations with servant leadership and uphold NTM Core Values.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality and delivery targets and exceed customer expectations. Requirements include 5+ years in production management, strong organizational and budgeting skills, and a proven ability to identify bottlenecks and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Production Operations or related discipline is preferred; otherwise related supervisory/management experience in manufacturing can offset the degree requirement.
  • 5+ years of production management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions.
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and tracking and trending organizational metrics.
  • Ability to identify cost savings strategies and implement promptly and effectively.
  • Team player able to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent math skills and PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multitask.
  • Must pass criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-Verify.

Responsibilities

  • Establish build schedule for the production departments.
  • Work with Plant Manager to set daily/weekly production goals.
  • Review and approve orders, work orders, and necessary production paperwork.
  • Issue materials to work orders and close paperwork when units are ready for shipment.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all daily production activities to meet goals.
  • Determine headcount needs to support departmental goals.
  • Train personnel and ensure cross-training to support goals.
  • Ensure all production builds meet quality standards and document reviews.
  • Ensure materials, tooling, packaging and inventory are on hand.
  • Coordinate safe work practices and monitor compliance.
  • Review daily safety topics and incidents in department huddle.
  • Address unsafe actions and take corrective steps.
  • Coordinate outbound and inbound shipments with Shipping Manager.
  • Provide daily direction to shipping personnel and ensure proper packaging and loading.
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and profitability; establish KPIs and reporting.

Position Summary

The Production Manager’s primary role is to ensure the department’s manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. The Production Manager will lead department operations through servant leadership and promotion of NTM Core Values in every interaction. The Manager shall maintain the highest standards of quality and delivery to accomplish all manufacturing objectives and exceed customer expectations. To meet these requirements the Production Manager will work closely with all members of the NTM team, including cross-functional departments internally and externally.

Job Duties
  • Establish build schedule for the production departments:
  • Works with Plant Manager to establish daily/weekly production goals.
  • Monitors incoming customer orders, approve orders, work orders, and creates all necessary production paperwork as necessary.
  • Issues materials to work orders as consumed, closes all paperwork when units are ready for shipment.
  • Plan, Direct and coordinate all daily aspects of the production departments:
  • Establish headcount needs to support departmental goals.
  • Develop, document, and ensure all personnel in the department are trained in the best manner to complete each work task. Ensure personnel are cross trained as needed to support department goals.
  • Ensure all production builds meet established quality standards. Ensure documentation of quality reviews is retained with each order.
  • Review all necessary supplies to support the production build schedule are on hand as needed, including tooling, packaging, and inventory items. Works with Stockroom personnel and company Buyers to ensure materials and items are on hand.
  • Ensure all work activities are conducted in a safe manner within the department:
  • Establish and communicate safe work practices for department activity.
  • Monitor work activity to ensure compliance with established practices.
  • Review daily safety topics in department huddle and review all published incidents/accidents with the team.
  • Report unsafe actions timely, take corrective steps to address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Works with Shipping Manager to coordinate outbound and inbound shipments (internal from location to location, and external to customers).
  • Provide daily direction to all shipping personnel assigned to the department.
  • Ensure all products are packaged properly for transportation and delivery.
  • Ensure products are loaded and secured properly for transport.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement in department performance as it relates to productivity, quality, and contribution to organizational profitability:
  • Establish KPI to reflect department performance in these areas.
  • Establish reporting methods and frequency as needed to key stakeholders in the department and organization.
  • Evaluate the performance of all the department and support personnel, provide coaching/feedback to individuals to further their contributions to the organization.
  • Act as a resource to identify, and remove all roadblocks and obstacles that hinder department performance, using all available tools and resources. Strife to establish a department of excellence.
  • Complete any and all other duties as assigned.
Summary
Education

An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Production Operations or related discipline is preferred; in the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in a supervisory/management role in a manufacturing facility , where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.
