Job description

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out numerous production-related tasks associated with the management of filling, labeling, assembly, and packaging. In this role, you need to follow and create operations procedures, specifications and detailed work instructions including starting up/stopping operations, clearing operations areas, calculating/forecasting component usage, verifying count of products in and out of operations, and visually inspecting products for defects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Partner with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
• Scheduling and reviewing work performed by technicians.
• Estimate costs and prepare budgets.
• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
• Monitor production to foresee and resolve issues.
• Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel.
• Determine number of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)
• Assign and approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment etc.
• Ensure output meets quality standards.
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA and ISO standards and regulations
• Taking part in the internal audit process
• Conducting employee training, motivation and development as well as carrying out performance appraisals in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As Production Manager, you must have a demonstrated ability to adhere closely to department procedures. Also, you must possess people skills that will allow you to maintain department morale and interact cooperatively with workers from other departments. Within this fast-paced environment, you will need to adapt quickly and use keen problem solving and critical thinking skills.

• 2 + years’ experience in a leadership position
• Deep knowledge of production management
• Experience in reporting on key production metrics
• Excellent organizational and leaderships abilities
• Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
• Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
• Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
• 5s and LEAN manufacturing knowledge is preferred.
• BSc/Ba in business administration or relevant field is preferred.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Must have a positive attitude and possess the ability to multitask and work well with others. Ability to organize and keep production tools and equipment in good working order.
• Previous applicable work experience a plus. Warehouse, assembly, or previous production roles.

Physical Demands:

• Position requires walking, standing for prolonged periods, occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• May frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Non-temperature-controlled warehouse, non-temperature-controlled production floor, temperature-controlled office.
