Job summary

Packaging Services Industries, Inc. in Williamsport, MD is seeking a Production Management Trainee to learn and lead manufacturing operations across multiple departments.

The role focuses on production planning, process improvement, safety and quality control, with supervision of machine operators. You will rotate through key production areas, develop schedules to meet delivery deadlines, and support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve throughput.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Admin, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Supervise all manufacturing activities in accordance with safety, quality and productivity guidelines.
• Ability to manage and develop a team of skilled machine operators and assistant machine operators.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, or 5S/6S.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and MOSH safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, WMS, or order management systems.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through key production departments to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and workflow management.
• Assist in developing and monitoring production schedules to meet delivery deadlines without compromising quality.
• Support process improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
• Supervise machine operations and plan the production schedule for multiple machine centers; supervise a team of machine operators and assistants.
• Maintain safety standards on the production floor in a busy, fast-paced environment.
