Job summary

Buckeye Fire & Equipment Co. seeks a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facilities equipment across hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, metalwork, HVAC, electrical, electronics, and control systems.

The role involves troubleshooting from drawings and documents, and coaching junior technicians. You will read alarms, respond quickly, lift up to 50 pounds, wear PPE, and adapt to shift schedules including weekends.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 8 years of related experience with certification training.
• Maintenance and repair of diverse production and facility systems.
• Ability to read documents, drawings and reference materials for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facilities equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical).
• Troubleshoots and corrects equipment problems and analyzes failures.

Job SummaryWhile possessing a superior understanding of maintenance and repair principles, the technician will work independently or with helper to perform a variety of skilled duties in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, metalwork, HVAC, electrical, electronics, control and instrumentation.Essential FunctionsUses hand tools, instruments, and basic shop tools to support essential functions.Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facilities equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).While using documents, drawings and reference materials, troubleshoots and corrects equipment problems. Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, sensors, and communication pathways to promptly return equipment to operational status.Complies with established safety, health, environmental policies. Adheres to company policies, guidelines and procedures.Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.Documents work performed including preventative and corrective maintenance issues.Mentors and guides junior technicians to develop maintenance skills.Reports to a manager and works under the direction of lead personnel. Will also work under the general direction of functional area manager.Requires a high school diploma or GED.
