Job summary

TE Connectivity in Medway, MA is seeking an EDM/CNC operator to set up, prove-out, operate and inspect advanced machining processes. You will work from drawings, verify part quality with precision tools, and contribute to continuous improvement within a safe, compliant environment.

The role demands strong mechanical aptitude, experience with EDM tooling, and the ability to read complex blueprints, while supporting a team-focused, quality-driven shop floor culture.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing/Production Teams transform raw materials into finished goods and ensure component flow. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Sets up and operates CNC equipment.
• Proves-out, sets-up, operates, and verifies the quality of work on a variety of machine tools involving close tolerances and difficult set-ups.
• Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards.
• Actively participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Performs less complex and repeat set-ups with/without assistance, on a variety of CNC machines in a manner, which will ensure accurate and precise compliance with design and quality standards.
• May perform more complex set-ups with supervision.
• Edits existing CNC programs and recommends permanent changes.
• Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions.
• Assists with the prove-out of part programs for new work or critical variations.
• Troubleshoots less complex machining job problems without supervision.
• Performs additional work within cycle times as time permits.
• Evaluates production job performance compared to established production and quality standards, makes improvements to processes to enhance operations. Makes suggestions for engineering process improvements.
• Maintains required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications.
• Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices.
• Recommends manufacturing changes to Supervisor/Department Lead/ CNC A.
• Instructs or assists others as needed.
• Performs routine PM and makes minor repairs to equipment as needed.
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.
• Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable.
• Keeps Team Leader informed of job, machine, and equipment related problems as well as any other information related to work activity.
• Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
• Performs multiple operations as required.
• Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

Essential Skills And Experience

• High school education or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of EDM set-up and operating experience, preferably in a job shop environment.
• 1-2 years of programming EDM machines.
• Very strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
• Proficient at using a microscope.
• Proficient at understanding complex blueprints.

Compensation

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $24.28- $36.44 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
