Job description

Utz Quality Foods, a leader in the snack food industry, is growing, and we're looking for dedicated, hands-on Machine Operators to join our team at our High Street facility in Hanover, PA. This full-time opportunity offers a consistent dayshift schedule (Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM), along with competitive pay, benefits, and the chance to work in a team-oriented environment where your contribution matters.



As a Machine Operator, you'll play a key role in our production process by operating and maintaining machinery that helps produce our delicious snacks. You'll work with a variety of equipment, including:




  • Fryers




  • Peelers




  • Seasoning Machines




  • Packaging Equipment




Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate machinery safely and efficiently

  • Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments

  • Conduct quality checks to ensure product standards are met

  • Maintain accurate records of production data and downtime

  • Communicate effectively with team members and incoming shifts

  • Support machine maintenance and assist technicians as needed

  • Train new operators and serve as a reliable team resource

  • Complete sanitation tasks and maintain a clean, compliant work environment

  • Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, and food safety standards

  • Perform quality and food safety checks and complete necessary reports.


Requirements:




  • Previous experience in manufacturing or food production preferred




  • Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn various types of equipment




  • Basic computer skills to record component usage and scan products




  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality




  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods




  • Willingness to obtain a forklift license (training provided)




  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions




  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
