A day in this roleYou arrive, review the day’s instructions and specifications, and get machines ready to run. You choose the right tooling, secure each workpiece with clamps and wrenches, and dial in the controls so performance meets quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. As production starts, you watch each machine closely, verify output quality, and make fine adjustments to keep everything on target.Throughout the shift, you serve as the department communicator—sharing status in meetings, updating management, and ensuring smooth handoffs at shift change. If an issue pops up, you report it immediately to your supervisor. You keep equipment in safe operating condition, tag and remove any nonconforming material, complete the required paperwork accurately and on time, and coordinate with other departments as needed.
