Welch's is hiring a General Production Labor role at our Lawton, MI facility. The position operates manufacturing equipment to produce high quality foods and beverages in a safe, efficient manner. This union role pays $20.66 per hour, with 2nd and 3rd shifts currently available.

The role is based in a 24/7 facility in Lawton, MI. You will perform duties from operating equipment to documenting safety and quality, and you will ensure proper cleaning, sanitation, and adherence to GMP and safety

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment to meet department goals.
• Move, organize, and stage ingredients for production.
• Produce documentation to verify safety, quality, and production standards.
• Observe operations to ensure schedules and quality targets are met.
• Submit daily production reports.
• Inspect and test production line setups for proper operation.
• Check equipment daily for cleaning and safe operation.
• Clean and sanitize production facilities and equipment.
• Follow Plant Safety Program, GMP requirements, and safety protocols.
• Ensure adequate supplies for production schedules.

Where You'll Work

This role will be based out of our 24/7 manufacturing facility in Lawton, MI.

What You'll Do

• Operate equipment to meet department goals
• Move, organize, and stage ingredients
• Produce documentation to verify safety, quality, and production standards
• Observe operations to ensure schedules and quality standards are met
• Submit reports summarizing daily production
• Inspect and test production line set‑ups to ensure proper equipment operation
• Check production equipment daily for proper cleaning and safe operation
• Clean and sanitize production facilities and equipment
• Follow the Plant Safety Program, GMP requirements and both people & food safety protocols
• Ensure enough supplies and ingredients for production schedules
• Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot/cold) and both indoor/outdoors

What You'll Need

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
• Experience as a Production Worker, Manufacturing Associate, Material Handler, General Labor, or other Manufacturing or industrial role preferred
