Job summary

Pivot Precision in Lockport, NY seeks a skilled machinist to set up and operate grinding processes, producing precision parts per blueprints and specifications. The role requires mechanical aptitude, blueprint literacy, and strict attention to detail in a safety-conscious factory environment.

The position offers on-site training, a 40–45 hour work week, 401(k) with match, monthly luncheons, year-end bonuses, boot allowance and safety glasses, and on-site training to continuously improve skills.

Qualifications

• Grinding experience preferred.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and schematics.
• Understanding of grinding wheel specifications and tool adjustments.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Strong communication skills for team collaboration.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine grinding procedures and parameters.
• Select appropriate grinding wheels, attachments, accessories, etc based on specifications.
• Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and tolerances.
• Monitor machine operations to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Record production data and maintain accurate logs of finished products.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operations and machinery.
