Job summary

Olin, located in Oxford, MS, is hiring a Production Machine Adjuster/Adjuster Trainee to set up, adjust, and operate production machinery on 2nd or 3rd shift. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot equipment, perform machine changeovers, and transport materials as needed.

Training may take up to six weeks before transition to primary assignment. Applicants must be 18+, have related experience or hands-on repair skills, and pass safety and background checks.

Title: Production Machine Adjuster/Adjuster Trainee
Location: Oxford, MS

Salary: Overall performance throughout the hiring process will determine position level
- Adjuster II starts at $23.78/hour with an increase to $24.82/hour after successful evaluations and completion of 90-days.
- Adjuster III starts at $22.23/hour with an increase to $23.27/hour after successful evaluations and completion of 90-days.
- Adjuster Trainee starts at $20.52/hour.

Schedule: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 3:30pm to 11:30pm or 3rd shift: Monday (Sunday night) - (Thursday night) Friday 11:30pm to 7:30am

Focus: The Production Machine Adjuster/Adjuster Trainee is responsible for the set-up, adjustment, and operation of production machinery.

Production Machine Adjuster/Adjuster Trainee Essential Job Functions:
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously; Troubleshoot and repair production equipment; Clean out and clear machine jams on hoppers.
  • Transport raw material from storage area to production areas via means of forklift or other production type transportation devices.
  • Use hand tools to make mechanical adjustments and repairs on production machinery.
  • Complete machine change-over and set-ups utilizing quality specifications for various products including changing dies and related parts as needed.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and other quality measuring decides to measure and record production part outer diameter (OD) length including visual inspection of material utilizing computerized equipment.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing concepts to ensure that quality meets the customer's standards and satisfaction.
Production Machine Adjuster/Adjuster Trainee Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One year of full-time related experience; manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Experience operating mechanical equipment; Hands-on experience with diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues preferred.
  • Experience with power and non-power hand tools and quality measuring devices.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, including overtime.
  • Must be able to pass a functional physical test and be able to use standard safety equipment and wear all required personal protective equipment (in extreme hot/cold environments).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Performance throughout overall hiring process will determine position level.
Location-Specific Requirements:
  • Various positions in the facility require successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • Some positions could require access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check if job offer is received and accepted.
  • Must be able to attend orientation and training on 1st shift (Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm) before transitioning to primary assignment on 2nd (3:30pm - 11:30pm) or 3rd (11:30pm - 7:30am) shift. Training could take up to six (6) weeks to complete.
