What does it mean to be a Prysmian Production Line Operator?

  • Monitor plastic extrusion or stranding lines while running to ensure quality/timely production of cables.
  • Perform machine startups, changeovers and operator preventative maintenance as required.
  • Perform required measurement checks to ensure cables are manufactured to quality specifications.
  • Proactively report any production shortfalls, quality nonconformances, and equipment issues swiftly
  • Follows all safety, personal protective equipment, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 12 months Manufacturing, Service or Warehouse experience
  • Ability to pass the Skills Test with favorable results.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the background check and pre-employment drug testing.
  • Ability to visually distinguish 12 basic colors.
  • Ability to stoop, bend at the waist, stand, and sit as needed to reach product while working up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Loading and unloading of materials as needed with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Manual rolling of reels between 200 and 800 lbs. for short distances with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate proficiency of simple calculations and use of all required measurement tools (Calipers, Measuring Tape, Thickness Gages)
  • Ability to have full range of motion in shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers for manipulation of product and work equipment.
