Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Production Line Lead in Ferndale, WA, for a food manufacturing facility. Evaluate-to-Hire, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM shift, pay $22.00–$24.00 per hour. Lead daily line activities, enforce food safety and GMPs, and partner with QA for quality checks.

You will train staff on SOPs, manage labor, document metrics, and promote a safe, efficient production environment. Strong HACCP and leadership required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in food processing or manufacturing.
• Understanding of HACCP principles, food safety requirements, and manufacturing processes.
• Previous leadership experience such as Lead, Trainer, Coordinator, or similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities on assigned production lines.
• Enforce food safety standards, GMPs, allergen controls, and sanitation procedures.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to perform routine quality checks and verify product specifications.
• Identify and isolate non-conforming products to prevent contamination and reduce waste.
• Promote a zero-accident culture through safety leadership and PPE compliance.
• Ensure OSHA and company safety requirements are followed.
• Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and maintain a clean work environment.
• Allocate labor and direct workflow to maximize production efficiency.
• Train and onboard employees on SOPs, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
• Coordinate shift handoffs and document production metrics, yields, and downtime.
• Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and elevate maintenance concerns as needed.
• Operate production equipment and assist on the line during staffing shortages or peak production periods.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food processing or manufacturing
• Understanding of HACCP principles, food safety requirements, and manufacturing processes
• Previous leadership experience such as Lead, Trainer, Coordinator, or similar role preferred
• Ability to translate production schedules into clear tasks for team members
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist throughout the shift
