Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a Production Attendant to support cheese packaging operations. You will package cheese according to customer specifications, maintain records, and help set up the packaging line to meet GMP standards.

The role requires attention to safety, quality, and process efficiency in a fast-paced plant environment. Candidates should be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and adapt to rotating shifts with overtime as needed.

Ready to bring your best? Shift (10:00PM to 11:00PM Start) (6:00AM to 7:00AM End). As a Production Attendant you will prepare packaging in accordance with customer specifications, company policy, and GMP's. You are also responsible for maintaining accurate records, adhering to all safety measures, and the efficiency of the cheese packaging process.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter

• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to, GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
• Efficiently package cheese into desired packaging material.
• Identify and communicate any out-of-spec product conditions; follow the established notification protocol.
• Assist in the set-up of the packaging process, to include machinery, date code printers, computers, product labels, proper vat selection, added ingredients, etc.
• Quality checks to assure product is packaged according to customer specifications on production sheet (price/date/label/packaging).
• Ability to read and comprehend production worksheets.
• Keep work area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
• Make productive use of down time.
• Attends various mandatory safety and departmental meetings.
• Able to rotate into all positions on the line.
• Box and palletize boxes according to instructions: ensuring accurate counts and proper identification.
• Sanitize lines when needed.
• Enter data on production reports.

You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have The Following Experiences, Skills, and Qualifications

• Can consistently push, pull, and lift between 20 and 40 pounds.
• Can work with frequent bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, and maneuvering around manufacturing equipment.
• Can continuously stand or walk on a concrete surface.
• Can work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
• Display traits of reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.
• Have basic analytical and numerical skills and the ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement.
• Can communicate effectivelty and efficiently.
• Have a working knowledge of Safety Methods and Procedures.
• Are self-motivated, able to multi-task, can work independently, and as part of a team.
• Are committed to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Demonstrate professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times.
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
• Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
• Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.

Pay $26.62 an hour + Shift Differential
