Production Attendant
As a Production Attendant you will prepare cheese packaging in accordance with customer specifications, company policy, and GMPs. You are responsible for maintaining accurate records, adhering to all safety measures, and ensuring the efficiency of the cheese packaging process.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures, including GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
- Efficiently package cheese into the desired packaging material and perform quality checks to assure product is packaged according to customer specifications.
- Identify and communicate any out‑of‑spec product conditions and follow the established notification protocol.
- Assist in setting up the packaging process, including machinery, date‑code printers, computers, product labels, proper vat selection, added ingredients, and related equipment.
- Read and comprehend production worksheets.
- Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
- Make productive use of downtime.
- Attend mandatory safety and departmental meetings.
- Be able to rotate into all positions on the line.
- Box and palletize boxes according to instructions, ensuring accurate counts and proper identification.
- Sanitize lines when needed.
- Enter data on production reports.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and produce products that exceed quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Consistently push, pull, and lift between 20 and 40 pounds.
- Work with frequent bending, twisting, stooping, and maneuvering around equipment.
- Stand or walk continuously on a concrete surface.
- Work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
- Display reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.
- Have basic analytical and numerical skills and perform mathematical calculations in different units.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently.
- Have a working knowledge of safety methods and procedures.
- Be self‑motivated, able to multitask, and work independently and as part of a team.
- Be committed to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate professionalism and positively represent Saputo at all times.
- Work in a manufacturing environment that includes noise, changing temperatures, standing/walking/bending/staying, and maneuvering around equipment consistently throughout the shift.
- Lift up to 40 lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
- Work with chemicals, wear personal protective equipment, and follow approved chemical handling procedures.
