Job summary

Briggs & Stratton in the Atlanta area seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor to coordinate equipment, facilities and teams across shifts to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets. You will lead improvements, monitor performance and ensure adherence to policies, while driving on-time, quality production.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in manufacturing and the ability to work with multiple departments to achieve optimal efficiency and continuous improvement in a busy plant

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment with HS diploma.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment with Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with continuous improvement methods and teams, or cost reduction initiatives showing tangible results.
• Ability to read, interpret and explain blueprints, engineering drawings, job orders and specifications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to motivate a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Develops, trains and motivates team members to achieve safety, efficiency, proficiency and morale, and implements new policies as needed.
• Analyzes production problems and devises procedures to minimize lost time due to delays or shortages.
• Coordinates schedules, testing activities and staff assignments, possibly across multiple departments or shifts.
• Monitors costs and budgets and provides corrective actions to improve budgetary control.
• Interacts with engineers to modify machines or processes to improve safety and quality.
• Uses data to estimate work-hour requirements and supports continuous improvement projects.
• Performs other duties including interviewing, hiring, coaching and performance management.
