Job Description

The Production Lead oversees the Forming, Shotblast, and Shipping areas. Responsibilities include coordinating work, minimizing downtime, reviewing daily personnel needs, and recommending overtime and reduction in hours as necessary. The Lead collaborates closely with other Leads, Inside Sales, and Production Planning to ensure quality products are delivered on time.

Qualifications:
  • Previous Olympic Steel warehouse experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Olympic Steel processes and procedures
  • Understanding of Olympic Steel's safety protocols
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, SEMS, and Dynamics AX
  • Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, yard trucks, and other operational equipment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Effective planning and scheduling skills to meet customer needs
  • Ability to lead and train employees
