Job Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for maintaining a product that is running properly, smoothly, and efficiently, making adjustments accordingly. The primary purpose of this job is to ensure employee safety and product quality. The Production Lead is responsible for developing and leading results-oriented, winning teams. The lead ensures that product specifications are correct and makes necessary adjustments by completing spec verifications during critical checkpoints. Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce control plan.
- Maintain machine checks, process checks, and document checks frequently to meet spec verification.
- Conduct walkthroughs of production and common areas, focusing on safety, housekeeping, and 5S.
- Monitor hourly production against targets and apply countermeasures as necessary.
- Communicate ingredient inventories to ensure all materials are available.
- Review staffing needs, including absences, new employees, and onboarding.
- Discuss quality issues: new, ongoing, and quality alerts.
- Check that team members have proper PPE, supplies, and tools.
- Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, co-workers, and other departments to ensure smooth production.
- Analyze root causes of issues and develop corrective actions.
- Facilitate line startup, restart, and changeover procedures.
- Manage multiple tasks and processes simultaneously.
- Be adaptable, attentive, and supportive to the team.
- Handle high-priority projects, work well under stress, and meet deadlines.
- Maintain smooth and efficient operation lines.
- Use technology to input specifications and monitor machine functions.
- Remove out-of-spec products and prevent substandard quality.
- Perform frequent machine checks (roller, dimension, temperature, size, weight).
- Follow good manufacturing practices and safety policies.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3+ Years of leadership experience in manufacturing
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Flexible schedule, including weekends
- Willingness to learn various skills and understand processes
- Ability to motivate, develop, and measure team performance
- Problem-solving skills and ability to make quality decisions
- Ability to work independently and in teams
Work Environment
- Work in noisy, wet, humid, hot, or cold conditions around machinery.
