Base pay range

$25.00/yr - $28.00/yr

Molding Products is growing and adding a Lead to our 3rd shift Production!

10:00pm - 6:30am, Sun - Thurs nights

$25.00 - $28.00/hr + $1.50 Shift Premium

Reporting to the Production Manager and Shift Supervisor, the Shift Lead manages and helps supervise the day-to-day activities of the production personnel to help ensure a safe, and efficient manufacturing work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

  • BE A CHAMPION OF SAFETY and lead by example wearing all PPE to perform job duties, (safety glasses/goggles, proper uniforms, cut resistant gloves, etc.) and ensure production personnel are also following the plant safety rules.
  • Identify unsafe acts and conditions. Resolve and report when they happen.
  • Self-Starter and the ability to identify work needing to be done.
  • Provide direction and support to production personnel enabling them to carry out their job duties efficiently and safely regarding the days schedule.
  • Interact with the Production Manager and Production supervisor regarding the daily SMC and Mixing schedule.
  • Must be able to perform and troubleshoot all production jobs.
  • Fill in at any production position as needed for illnesses and absenteeism.
  • Review and help schedule time to get quality repacks completed on a daily basis.
  • Keep good records and reports of machinery downtime, and review with Production Manager and Production Supervisor and completion of shift.
  • Monitor progression of productivity in the compaction and compounding departments. Review with Production manager and Production Supervisor at end of shift.
  • Keep logs and report all quality issues during the mixing or compacting process with Production Manager and Production Supervisor.
  • Verify all paperwork is being filled out correctly, (lot numbers for raw, dates, amount used/pulled, sheet weight, glass weight, pre-run checks, etc.) and report any variances.
  • Help monitor hold tank labeling accuracy and availability.
  • Help plan shar and mixing batch orders.
  • Help organize and prioritize glass types being used and replaced.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Organize production personnel when a spill occurs to ensure a safe and timely cleanup process.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the shipping and quality departments to help production run safely and efficiently without any interruptions.
  • Communicate with the Production Supervisor to help schedule breaks for the production personnel.
  • Help monitor “end of shift” milestones such as staging glass, removing full Haz-Waste drums, emptying trash bins, turning in completed paperwork, making boxes, machine cleanliness, raw material stagging).
  • Review the days progress regarding equipment issues, variances on machinery times, quality issues, and raw material availability with the Production Manager and oncoming Production Supervisor.
  • Follow and understand SOP’s and activities related to the day-to-day processes. Includes good documentation practices.
  • Be a team player who is willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good attendance record.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent.
  • Experience in leadership role
  • Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment uses, and a general knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment, preferably in a chemical, SMC, or Extruder field.
  • Self-Starter and Multi-Task oriented.
  • Good verbal skills.
  • Understanding of Chemical Process Equipment and technology.
  • Willing to get “hands dirty” when troubleshooting or filling in at positions.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to make snap (quick) decisions.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
