POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Leads are responsible for assisting with all aspects of day-to-day operations including resolution of product, personnel, and process issues. The Lead person provides direction and support for operators. They function as the primary back-up for the Supervisor. Since Leads have a high contact with operators, it is expected that they are role models of the companies’ core values – specifically teamwork, integrity, and innovation. The Lead is responsible for assisting in the driving of all department operations in a manner that meets company standards for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

WHAT LEADS DO:

1. Ensure that all safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed.
2. Provide support and direction to operators to ensure that processes are operating at target safety, quality, and performance targets.
3. Provide support and direction to operators to ensure paperwork and all related processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
4. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, helping to drive problem solving.
5. Troubleshoot product and machine related issues.
6. Assist supervisor in developing and implementing departmental goals.
7. Assist supervisor in employee development activities.
8. Assist supervisor in prioritizing production.
9. Assist the supervisor in developing and implementing the required training for the operators to ensure all regulatory and quality standards are met.
10. Assist supervisor with the administration of progressive discipline.
11. Provide operator performance feedback to Supervisor to assist with performance evaluations.
12. Communicate with other departments and work with them to share good ideas as well as solve problems.
13. Role model teamwork between shifts and departments.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:

1. Communicate in an effective and professional manner, even when under pressure.
2. Successfully prioritize tasks in order to meet expected completion times.
3. Coach and motivate following the SP CARE model.
4. Troubleshoot product/machine/process related issues.

1. 2:00 – 12:30am Monday-Thursday, or as job responsibilities require.
2. FOUR DAY WORK WEEKS!
3. THREE DAY WEEKENDS!
