Wieland seeks a Production Lead for the 1st shift at our Staunton, VA facility to coordinate a multi‑area production team. You will oversee safety, quality, and efficiency, while ensuring smooth handovers and adherence to procedures.

The role requires supervising 30+ associates across manufacturing, quality, and shipping/receiving, with strong communication and mechanical aptitude. On-site position with strong growth opportunities.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in management with emphasis on manufacturing or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of previous relevant industrial manufacturing experience.
• Previous Supervisory experience leading production associates.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and departments.
• Familiarity with various departments and equipment within the scope of responsibility.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure safety, quality, production, and facility operations on the assigned shift.
• Lead daily Tier 1 safety and production objective meetings at shift start.
• Provide handover information on unit status for seamless transfer between shifts.
• Maintain time and performance records for each team member.
• Assist in training direct reports and maintain training records.

Production Lead (1st Shift) Responsibilities

• Ensures team members' adherence to specified standards of safety, quality, operating procedures, and compliance with company policies.
• Conduct daily Tier 1 meetings at the start of the shift to review pertinent safety information, daily production objectives and overall shift expectations.
• Provide documented handover information to the appropriate personnel on the status of units to assure a seamless transfer. Information shall include the status of units, where they are, and at what stage in the process they are in.
• Maintains time and performance records for each team member.
• Assures and assists (including hands‑on training) in the training of direct reports in various areas to documented procedures. Training records shall be maintained.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Production Lead (1st Shift) Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management with emphasis on manufacturing or equivalent experience required.
• Previous Supervisory experience managing/leading a group of production associates required.
• 2 to 5 years of previous relevant industrial manufacturing experience required.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel and departments within the organization.
• Familiarity with the various departments and equipment within the scope of their responsibility preferred.
• Ability to interpret, comprehend and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Must have demonstrated a mechanical aptitude. Mechanical aptitude exam may be used to determine the extent of mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills with familiarity of Microsoft office suite.
