Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions is seeking a production-oriented professional for our Smithfield, NC facility. The role involves assembling, molding, shipping, receiving, and contributing to new product development within a manufacturing environment.

You will meet daily production targets, monitor workflows, and ensure processes follow standard work. Openness to overtime, strong teamwork, and adherence to safety guidelines are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or 4 years of manufacturing/production experience) required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manufacturing instructions, and procedures.
  • Willingness to work overtime and varied shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Meet daily production rates and goals.
  • Monitor efficient movement of production to meet area requirements.
  • Schedule and track production per company instructions.
  • Complete required cell activities and documentation for the assigned work cell.
  • Follow standard work instructions and address quality/safety concerns.
  • Inspect own and others' work for conformance to drawings and specs.
  • Train production staff and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Handle re-work and repair tasks as needed and communicate with supervisors.

Accountabilities:

Efficiently and effectively assist with the satisfactory completion and administration of the following items in order to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those responsibilities and essential job functions associated with roles in assembly, molding, shipping, receiving, and new product development.

  • Meet and maintain daily production rates & goals as established and required by the company.
  • Evaluate and monitor an efficient movement of production to meet area requirements.
  • Schedule, and monitor the production, following company instructions.
  • Complete, all required cell activities and documentation for assigned work cell as requested by supervisor.
  • Follow processes dictated by the standard work instructions.
  • Address all quality and safety concerns via the appropriate channel for an assigned cell.
  • Conducts Inspections of own and /or other associates' work to ensure correctness in accordance with company and /or customer drawing.
  • Attend all required training.
  • Train all production staff.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Complete re-work and repair activities as needed and as requested by the Supervisor.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of equipment functionality within the scope of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate an ability to trouble shoot equipment within the scope of responsibility.
  • Report any production abnormalities as they arise within cells under the assigned scope of responsibility.
  • Keep supervisor informed of cell activity including but not limited to information related to quality, parts supply, and safety issues that may occur within the scope of responsibility.
  • Assure the work environment is clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards (5S).
  • Participate in all required continuous improvement activities as requested or required by the company.
  • Utilize Lean concepts and provided tool tools to improve the production process.
  • Assure the work environment is clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards at all times.
  • Actively participate in all department projects, tasks, and objectives including but not limited to continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards as well as absolute personal and intellectual integrity, mature judgment, and innate cooperative nature.
  • Other activities as needed.
Qualifications, Requirements, And Essential Job Functions
  • Satisfactory completion of a 30-60-90-day review program
  • High School Diploma or GED or 4 years of solid manufacturing/production experience
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring production
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures.
  • Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Sustained above-average attendance record by not exceeding 5 points, or the allowed five (5) call in’s per the OPW attendance policy at any time.
  • No history of repeated or severe disciplinary action for violation of OPW company policy
  • Satisfactory completion of all required training programs as required by management.
  • Ability to work overtime to accommodate production/project needs.
  • Must be willing to work assigned shift and overtime.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with plant safety policies. As these roles may require the handling of fiberglass and other materials, must be willing and able to wear appropriate PPE.
  • Ability to listen and take direction by supervisory staff is key.
  • Ability to use gauges for inspection.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull, kneel, climb and work in weather extremes.
  • Must have full professional proficiency in English
