Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect jobs with special quality concerns at various stages of production and ensure concerns are communicated to each appropriate department (consult with V.P. Production).
  • Investigate quality problems and respond to customers, sales reps, vendors.
  • Preview jobs to be certain they fit ProDocumentSolutions’ quality capabilities.
  • Inspect, as time permits, work in progress throughout the plant.
  • Troubleshooting – assist in specific instances where immediate action will either prevent or solve a problem.
  • Provide production systems and quality improvement suggestions to production departments (consult with the plant manager).
  • Consider methods, equipment, and materials to improve product quality.
  • Monitor "Quality Concerns" as originated by Sales, Estimating, or CSR's and then use as a tool to monitor critical jobs.
  • Analyze quality related problems as they occur and in retrospect. Coordinate with other managers and supervisors assisting in this regard.
  • Oversee departmental systems for storing both running and training samples.
  • Direct and monitor employee quality group ("Job Perfect").
  • Develop and maintain Technical Information Sheets.
  • Keep statistical data on monthly cost of errors, including people involved.
  • Attend meetings to regularly address Quality and new resources.
  • Ensure that all meal and rest breaks are taken in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure all team members remain present and actively engaged at their assigned workstations during scheduled shifts.
  • Maintain a professional work environment by preventing unproductive behavior and ensuring no unauthorized absences from work areas.
  • Monitor overall production performance to ensure operations run smoothly; promptly escalate or seek support from an experienced operator when issues arise.
  • Help production floor team as needed.
  • Coordinate and reassign personnel as necessary to cover open positions and maintain optimal staffing levels.

Production Lead

Job Summary: The Production Lead is responsible for ensuring all print production output meets established quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role oversees quality assurance processes on the production floor, conducts inspections throughout the print cycle, and proactively identifies and resolves defects to prevent rework or delays. The Production Lead partners closely with production teams, operators, and leadership to maintain consistency, drive continuous improvement, and uphold high standards of accuracy, color integrity, and finishing quality. Additionally, this position provides guidance to team members, enforces quality protocols, and supports timely delivery of error‑free products. The Production Lead works with the production team to ensure efficient workflow, high‑quality output, and adherence to safety and operational standards. This role coordinates team members on the production floor, monitors performance, and addresses issues in real time to maintain productivity and meet production targets. The Production Lead acts as the primary point of contact during assigned shifts, providing guidance, reallocating resources as needed, and partnering with experienced operators and leadership to resolve challenges, optimize processes, and ensure timely delivery of print jobs.
