Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for manufacturing bird and grass seed in accordance with standard operating procedures established at the blending mill. Responsibilities include operating processing equipment, performing housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, quality checks on seed and ingredients, and managing bin inventory. The role oversees daily operations of the production floor, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met in compliance with legal and food safety standards.

Essential Functions

1. Manage daily mill operations to ensure safety, quality, and throughput standards are met.
2. Communicate with the manager regarding challenges and opportunities on the production lines.
3. Batch ingredients and prepare production lines for changeovers, inspecting raw materials to ensure correct inventories.
4. Conduct quality checks post-changeovers to prevent non-conforming products.
5. Complete inventory counts and report adjustments.
6. Adhere to safety programs, guidelines, and regulations.
7. Operate bagging equipment and stack filled bags on pallets.
8. Operate forklifts for product delivery within the warehouse.
9. Rotate inventory to prevent damage and obsolescence.
10. Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation.
11. Collect and monitor samples according to sampling plans.
12. Perform routine housekeeping and waste disposal.
13. Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role may include supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

No significant hazards; some heavy lifting (up to 80 pounds); standing for long periods; operating equipment like forklifts and ladders.

Requirements
