Job summary

ATC in Knoxville, TN seeks a Team Leader to coordinate and lead production personnel and processes, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time output.

You will supervise 10–25 employees on the line, promote 5S, drive continuous improvement, and partner with supervision to train staff and optimize operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of lean or production experience, with solid PC skills and ERP familiarity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; related lean/ops experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in operations and/or lean manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and ERP software.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment.
  • Oversees housekeeping and 5S activities.
  • Ensures product quality through audits and operator conformance to standards, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
  • Audits products and scrap to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines or methods.
  • Drives continuous improvement with a focus on employee involvement.
  • Supports supervisor in developing personnel through training, performance reviews, and other administrative duties.
  • Maintains training records and cross-training.
  • Adjusts manpower assignments to meet production schedules.
  • Ensures necessary materials and supplies are available for production.
  • Assists in the implementation of new procedures or processes to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Maintains production records.
  • Performs the duties of production workers supervised when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment at all times.
  • Responsible for housekeeping and 5s activity in the area.
  • Responsible for product quality through auditing and verification of operator conformance to standards, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of operations and/or lean experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with the manufacturing industry and the related business processes. Intermediate to advanced PC skills

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to groups of employees or others outside the department. Must be able to read and understand English.

Computer Skills

Ability to proficiently operate a PC computer, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to draft emails, work in spreadsheets, and create graphs. Ability to navigate network directories and learn to perform duties in enterprise ERP software system.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to interpret company and departmental financial data.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems involving several variables in various situations.
