Job summary

Sun Chemical in Richmond, VA is seeking a Production Lead to oversee paste ink manufacturing operations. You will foster a safe, efficient production environment, develop teams, and optimize processes to consistently meet business expectations.

The role requires hands-on leadership and the ability to manage daily production goals, schedules, and documentation while ensuring quality and compliance across the line.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Experience coordinating production workflows and meeting daily goals.

Responsibilities

• Review daily & weekly production schedules with MRPs and Site manager.
• Direct the work of the production workforce to meet deadlines.
• Operate production equipment safely and proficiently (e.g., three roll mills, mixers, forklift).
• Ensure production documentation is complete and accurate.
• Perform SAP-related production functions and navigate other databases as required.
• Oversee daily housekeeping and 5S in the production department.
• Support safety initiatives and OTIF performance with site management.
• Contribute to employee evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Production Lead to participate in and oversee paste ink manufacturing operations at our Richmond, VA facility. This person is responsible for fostering a positive, safe, and efficient production environment while ensuring high product quality. The successful candidate will be a hand-on leader who can develop teams, optimize processes and consistently meet business expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Review daily & weekly production schedule with MRPs and Site manager


• Directs the work of the production workforce to meet production deadlines


• Operate production equipment proficiently and safely (i.e. three roll mills, mixers, forklift)


• Ensure that all production documentation is completed completely and accurately


• Perform SAP functions related to production with ability to navigate additional databases as required.


• Strong organization and time management skills


• Participates as safety committee member


• Works closely with site management to ensure that site meets OTIF targets.


• Oversee daily housekeeping and 5S program for production department


• Facilitates departmental OJT training.


• Participates and provides feedback for employee evaluations, discipline, counsel, coaching and handling of complaints


• May perform other duties as required. Including, but not limited to Quality Control, Shipping and Inventory Management.

Organization Relationships:

• Regular contact with site personnel.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read and write English.


• 1-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Experience leading production employees, coordinating workflow, and supporting daily production goals.
