Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Production - Lamination Extruder Trainee in Winnebago, IL. This on-site role offers training with opportunities to join the company after initial periods, and includes shift work on the 3rd shift from 10:45pm to 7:00am.

The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs, following detailed instructions, and maintaining quality through inspection and accurate data entry. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Able to work on-site with minimal experience; training provided
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly during shifts
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; no 3 infractions within first 90 days
• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Willingness to train across production functions and support team success

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple production packing lines, ensuring they are kept up with and not backing up
• Follow detailed work instructions to package products in the correct pattern
• Inspect and count parts for quality control
• Separate finished products and inspect for proper spacing and glue leaks
• Lift window profiles (5–13 lbs each) into boxes and secure boxes for pallet skids
• Train on plastic extrusion machine; learn to change dies and load/unload machine
• Perform basic data entry related to production and quality metrics
• Maintain flexible hours with mandatory overtime on Saturdays as needed
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production flow and ask questions as needed
• Execute tasks requiring twisting, bending, reaching overhead and other movements for assembly
• Maintain attention to detail for color accuracy and high-quality finishes; avoid color blindness
• Follow safety protocols, wear steel-toe boots, and keep workspace clean and organized

QPS Employment Group has a great Production - Lamination Extruder Trainee position available at a company in Winnebago, IL. This production position offers opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment within the construction industry. It involves following detailed work orders, accurate visual inspections, packaging finished products, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting production processes to meet company goals. There are opportunities for training and to become hired into the company.

Production - Lamination Extruder Trainee Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage multiple production packing lines, ensuring they are well kept up with and not becoming backed up
• Follow detailed work instructions to package the products in the correct pattern
• Inspect and count parts for quality control
• Separate finished products and inspect for proper spacing and glue leaks
• Lift window profiles - otherwise known as the structural frames of windows into boxes. These profiles vary in size and can weigh 5-13 lbs. each
• Secure boxes properly, team lift if instructions state to, into metal pallet skids
• Trains on plastic extrusion machine. Learning to become proficient in changing dies, loading and unloading machine
• Perform basic data entry related to production and quality metrics
• Maintain flexibility in work hours, including mandatory overtime on Saturdays as needed
• Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth production flow, ask questions as needed
• Execute tasks that involve twisting, bending, reaching overhead, and other physical movements required for assembly
• Maintain a keen eye for detail, ensuring color accuracy and high-quality finishes; must not be color blind
• Follow safety protocols diligently-including wearing steel-toe boots-and uphold a clean and organized workspace

Production - Lamination Extruder Trainee Requirements:

• Able to work on-site with minimal experience required; training provided
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly during shifts required.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential; we value engagement and a positive work ethic. MUST NOT have 3 attendance infractions within the first 90 days of employment. This includes tardies, absences and leaving early
• Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment
• Willingness to train across various production functions and support team success
