Job summary

Fabcon Precast in Charlestown, IN is seeking production labor workers to assist in manufacturing concrete products, including wall panels and barrier systems. Responsibilities include following instructions, setting up beds and forms, and ensuring quality and safety on all tasks.

You will read drawings, setup equipment, and cooperate with teammates to meet daily production goals while maintaining cleanliness and accuracy in all work areas.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions to clean and upkeep equipment.
• Cut and install wood block outs.
• Set up equipment used for casting bands and finishes.
• Proper placement of concrete on the bed to match drawings.
• Lay out the bed with dimensions per piece drawings.
• Set up bed per specs on drawings, including form side reveals and bottom plates.
• Wash exposed aggregate panels/beds as required.
• Place finished product dunnage in yard correctly.
• Grind ends of panels and the bed pallet.
• Scrape clean side forms, chamfer and oil.
• Set clamp/hook-ups to panel correctly.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and Fabcon Way standards.
• Report finish issues and participate in continuous improvement.

Description

Purpose/Scope

Perform production labor work necessary to assist with the manufacture of high-quality concrete products including, but not limited to, wall panels, highway traffic barriers, columns, and sound walls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow appropriate work instructions to clean and upkeep all equipment
• Cut and install wood block outs
• Set up equipment used for casting bands and finishes
• Proper placement of concrete on the bed to match the piece drawings
• Lay out the bed with the proper dimensions on each piece drawing and for the overall length of the bed
• Set up the bed according to the specs on piece drawings including all form side reveals and bottom steel/plates
• Responsible for washing exposed aggregate (panels/full beds)
• Responsible for correct dunnage placement of finished product in yard
• Grind ends of panels
• Grind clean pallet of bed
• Scrape clean side forms and chamfer and oil
• Correctly set clamp/hook-ups to panel
• Dedication to safety, customer satisfaction, first time quality and efficiency
• Responsible for calling attention to any problems with finish

Physical Requirements

Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection

Plant/Yard: Alll types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
