Job summary

Fabcon in the Midwest plant is seeking a qualified team member to operate jackhammer, forklift, and bobcat, while following instructions to maintain equipment and finish beds per drawings. You will set up beds, monitor heat, and ensure proper dunnage placement for finished products.

The role requires reading tape measures and blueprints, safe machinery operation, and willingness to work overtime as needed. Teamwork, math aptitude, and knowledge of concrete mixes are important to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate jackhammer, forklift, bobcat.
  • Follow work instructions to clean and upkeep equipment.
  • Cut and install wood block outs.
  • Set up equipment used for casting bands and finishes.
  • Place concrete on the bed to match drawings.
  • Monitor bed heat at computer.
  • Lay out and set up bed per piece drawings.
  • Set up bed with specs on drawings including form reveals and bottom plates.
  • Wash exposed aggregate panels and beds.
  • Position finished product dunnage in yard.
  • Grind ends of panels.
  • Grind clean pallet of bed.
  • Scrape clean side forms and chamfer and oil.
  • Set clamp/hook-ups to panel.
  • Prioritize safety, customer satisfaction, first-time quality, and efficiency.
  • Report finish issues promptly.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate jackhammer, forklift, bobcat
  • Follow appropriate work instructions to clean and upkeep all equipment
  • Cut and install wood block outs
  • Set up equipment used for casting bands and finishes
  • Proper placement of concrete on the bed to match the piece drawings
  • Monitor bed heat at computer
  • Lay out the bed with the proper dimensions on each piece drawing and for the overall length of the bed
  • Set up the bed according to the specs on piece drawings including all form side reveals and bottom steel/plates
  • Responsible for washing exposed aggregate (panels/full beds)
  • Responsible for correct dunnage placement of finished product in yard
  • Grind ends of panels
  • Grind clean pallet of bed
  • Scrape clean side forms and chamfer and oil
  • Correctly set clamp/hook-ups to panel
  • Dedication to safety, customer satisfaction, first time quality and efficiency
  • Responsible for calling attention to any problems with finish

Physical Requirements:
  • Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection
Work Environment:
  • Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
