Job summary

MSI Express invites you to join its Summer Internship as a Production Intern, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making. You will work with leaders across the company on real business challenges, and your results will be presented to senior leadership at the end of the program.

Internship Details:

• Duration: 10 weeks (Summer 2027)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday; Approximately 8 hours per day/40 hours per week
• Pay: $19.00/hour
• Benefits: This role is not eligible for benefits

About the Role:

As a Production Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Manufacturing Operations Support: Assist production teams in monitoring daily manufacturing activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met.
• Continuous Improvement Projects: Support initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and optimizing production processes.
• Performance Monitoring: Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and process bottlenecks.
• Standard Work Development: Assist in creating and updating work instructions, process documentation, and visual management tools.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to support operational goals.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments. Frequent exposure to production areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial conditions. Must follow all safety requirements and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing facilities. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms as necessary. Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work around equipment during project activities. Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Periodic travel may be required to other MSI Express locations and end-of-internship events.
