Job summary

JBS USA is seeking workers for harvesting operations in a fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities include humane animal handling, unloading, stunning, hide removal, and trimming to customer specs.

Qualifications

• Experience handling hand tools in a meat processing setting is preferred.
• Ability to operate knives, hooks and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment with attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Unload and segregate live animals in a humane manner for harvest entry.
• Stun animals humanely to enter the harvest floor.
• Remove hides using dehider knives and powered equipment.
• Harvest blood on the harvest floor and prepare for customer.
• Trim carcasses free of contaminants and prepare for shipment.
• Harvest offal products and prepare for customer.
• Operate scales to weigh payments to producers and receipts from customers.
• Break down carcasses and save primals as requested by customers.
• Trim product to customer specifications and box/bag trim and primals.
• Operate lifts to move product for storage and shipment.

Responsibilities:Candidates will have the ability to work in a setting that will require that they work at harvesting the animals and or work at preparing the product to be ready for shipment to customers. Work may involve the use of hand tools, such as knives and hooks and also could involve using powered industrial hand tools such as saws, skinners or other powered knives.

Job Tasks:

• Unloading and segregating live animals in a humane manner and prepare for entering Harvest Floor.
• Stunning animals in a humane way to enter the harvest floor.
• Hide removal using dehider knives and other powered equipment.
• Harvesting of blood on the harvest floor and prepare for customer.
• Trimming of carcasses free of contaminates.
• Harvest of all offal products and prepare for customer.
• Operate scales to properly weigh proper payment to producers as well as receive proper payment from customers.
• Breakdown carcasses and save primals as desired by customers.
• Trim product to customer specifications.
• Box & bag trim and primals to customer specifications.
• Operate lifts to move product into storage and to prepare for shipment.
• Shipping of product as orders are received.
