Overview
The Production Helpers are responsible for analyzing and monitoring production process performance, reporting results from each station, performing maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting lines and pipes. They ensure compliance with production documentation, including audits of SWIS (Standard Work Instruction Sheets), and meet quality objectives in a manufacturing environment. Additional tasks may be assigned. Machine experience is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transfer finish material from Mixing or Casting station to Casting or Polishing station.
- Count pre-sheets and place each at the correct station.
- Understand process capability and repeatability of existing operations.
- Monitor and inspect sheets for defects and size during operation.
- Clean pipes, rollers, and filters as needed.
- Load/unload protective film using lifts.
- Cut down patterns or overlays to reduce loss.
- Monitor pattern colors and designs.
- Operate lifts to exchange pallets and reorganize mixing inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness in Sanding & Polishing areas.
- Pass a color test.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of safety standards applicable to production areas and relevant regulations.
- Effective communication skills in a production environment.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste handling procedures.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and confidently.
- Ability to drive forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Comfort working with certain chemicals (e.g., Methyl Methacrylate, Ethyl Acetate, Acetone).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Heavy physical effort required, including walking, pushing, climbing, and lifting over 50 lbs.
- Environment involves exposure to fumes, odors, temperature extremes, and loud noises, with moderate risk of accidents or illness.
