Tuff Shed is recruiting for a Production Foreman to contribute to the success of our Factory Store in Oklahoma City. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on the Company!
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SUCCESSFUL PRODUCTION FOREMAN?
- Coordinates and schedules all fabrication assignments.
- Ensures work is properly assigned and completed with Tuff Shed's quality, productivity, and safety standards.
- Partners with the direct supervisor and Shop Specialist to review production schedules, product deficiencies, labor performance, and other needs.
- Ensures that only company-certified employees operate forklifts and other tools/equipment.
- Ensures proper PPE policies are met.
- Implements Tuff Shed's "housekeeping" standards and ensures compliance.
- Ensures tools/equipment are maintained in safe and good working condition.
- Leads daily production team meetings.
PACK Accuracy & Labor
- Ensures that PACK-certified employees inspect every building.
- Ensures products are stacked and ready for loading and/or assembly.
- Partners with Shop Specialist to ensure products are designed/built to Tuff Shed specifications.
- Coordinates sub-contractor loading.
- Determines root causes of deficiencies.
- Partners with management to understand labor targets.
- Assigns/reassigns workers as needed.
- Communicates results to the Prefab team.
- Identifies and communicates staffing needs and individual performance to management.
Material Management
- Oversees the handling and storage of materials.
- Accounts for unused materials, restocks, and minimizes waste.
- Monitors inventory levels of all stock items.
- Ensures material deliveries are received, stored, and documented properly.
- Participates in the monthly Cycle Count process.
- Inspects raw and finished goods.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Ensures all Prefab team members are trained and certified for their roles.
- Provides work direction to all Prefab team members.
- Inspects work and addresses deficiencies for improvement.
- Assists employees in resolving work-related problems.
- Creates and maintains a positive culture promoting good morale.
- Participates in the hiring process for new Prefab team members.
- Participates in disciplinary actions as needed.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience as a tradesperson or supervisor.
- Knowledge of construction practices and terminology.
- Ability to safely operate standard construction hand and power tools.
- Ability to read cut sheets, product drawings, engineered plans, and truss plans.
- Understanding of work optimization techniques.
- Ability to stay calm and strategic under pressure.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and quality standards.
- Clear communication of expectations.
- Experience in training others.
- Proficiency with arithmetic and related tools.
- Ability to understand instructions in various formats and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
EDUCATION
High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience preferred.
