Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a hands-on Inventory & Workflow Manager to supervise daily operations, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure materials move efficiently through the facility. The role involves active participation on the production floor, clock-in supervision, and collaboration with Finance to resolve discrepancies in inventory and labor costs.

Experience with BOMs, manufacturing work orders, and Global Shop Solutions ERP is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising or leading a team on the manufacturing floor.
• Hands-on experience with inventory control and production scheduling.
• Ability to manage employee attendance, productivity, and daily assignments.
• Knowledge of BOMs, work orders, inventory transactions, and job costing.
• Ability to analyze data and spot production-floor discrepancies.
• Experience collaborating with Finance/Accounting to reconcile inventory and labor costs.
• Experience using an ERP or manufacturing-management system.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the production floor.
• Supervise employees and assign daily work.
• Confirm employees report on time and clock in/out correctly.
• Monitor attendance, breaks, productivity, and task completion.
• Address attendance, performance, and conduct issues per policy.
• Ensure productivity and adherence to priorities.
• Communicate clearly with English- and Spanish-speaking employees.
• Maintain accurate inventory quantities, locations and ERP transactions.
• Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Create, review, track, and close manufacturing work orders.
• Review BOMs and confirm materials are available for production.
• Stage and issue materials to work orders.
• Monitor work in progress to identify shortages or bottlenecks.
• Reconcile inventory and production records with Finance.
• Investigate discrepancies in labor hours, material usage and costs.
• Compare ERP records with actual floor activity and inventory.
• Correct ERP transactions and prevent recurring errors.
• Review open work orders for accurate reporting of materials and costs.
• Assist Finance with month-end inventory reconciliation and WIP reporting.
• Identify causes of cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, engineering, shipping, finance and management.
• Enforce safety, housekeeping, quality and procedures.
• Train employees on inventory, timekeeping, workflow and ERP procedures.
• Report attendance, inventory, workflow, and performance concerns to management.
