Job summary

Leggett & Platt Merit Steel in Kouts, Indiana, is seeking a Production Floater to support multiple departments, ensuring smooth daily operations. You will perform quality tests, tag and weigh wire, stack materials, inspect equipment, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

The role requires flexibility to learn new tasks and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Weekend shifts (Fri–Sun or Sat–Mon) are 11 a.m.–11 p.m., with 36 hours paid as 40; after 9–12 months, transitions to a Mon–Fri

• Stack wire in the warehouse.
• Keep weight tag printer filled with labels.
• Inspect forklift and fill out inspection sheet.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Practice good safety techniques
• Perform other duties as assigned

Shift/Hours: Friday through Sunday OR Saturday through Monday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Work 36 hours and receive 40 hours of pay.

This weekend shift will be available for 9 to 12 months. After that period, employees will transition to a Monday through Friday shift.

We are seeking a Production Floater to join our team at our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. The Production Floater is a dynamic and adaptable team member responsible for performing a variety of duties across multiple departments as needed. This position is designed to provide support wherever required, ensuring the smooth operation of daily business activities and covering absences, high workloads, or special projects. The ideal candidate is flexible, quick to learn new tasks, and able to work effectively in diverse environments.

So, what will you be doing as a Production Floater?
