Job summary

Proper Beverage Company in Kentwood, MI, is seeking a Production Floater to support multiple production areas and cover absences. You will help balance workloads, assist bottlenecks, and ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires adaptability, teamwork, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday 7am–5pm schedule. Prior forklift experience is preferred, with safety and quality as top priorities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years in manufacturing or food/beverage production preferred.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification preferred.
  • Ability to learn multiple tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts.
  • Understanding of safety and quality standards in manufacturing.
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • End-of-Line production support and pallet handling.
  • Operate forklift to transport materials and finished goods.
  • Support multiple production lines and cover absences during peak periods.
  • Monitor production quality in coordination with Quality Control team.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the production area; follow SOPs.

Job Summary

The Production Floater plays a key role in maintaining efficiency across production operations by providing flexibility support wherever needed. The Production Floater is cross-trained across multiple production areas and is responsible for stepping in to cover absences, balance workloads, and assist with bottlenecks. This position requires adaptability, strong teamwork, and a working knowledge of multiple processes to ensure smooth and continuous production.

This is a full-time, 1st shift position. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm.

Responsibilities

  • End-of-Line Production Support
  • Remove finished goods from the production line and stack them securely on pallets.
  • Ensure accurate labeling, counts, and organization of pallets for storage or shipment.
  • Assist with operational support of the Variety Pack line as needed.

Core Production Duties

  • Manage depallitizer equipment for efficient loading and material handling.
  • Operate a forklift to transport materials and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Support production flow by filling in during employee absences, high-volume periods, or line slowdowns.

General Production Support

  • Assist with stocking materials (cardboard, packaging supplies, ingredients) to prevent production delays.
  • Support production flow by filling in during employee absences, high-volume periods, or line slowdowns.
  • Monitor and maintain production quality standards in coordination with the Quality Control team.
  • Collaborate with the Production Associates, Leads, and Supervisors to ensure efficiency and consistency across shifts.

Work Environment

  • Perform duties near machinery, forklift trucks, and other ancillary production activities.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Safety and Cleanliness

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area to uphold sanitation standards and prevent contamination.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies to prevent accidents and contamination.

All other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing or food/beverage production, preferred.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification, preferred.
