Gemini, Inc. is seeking a Production Finisher on 2nd shift in Cannon Falls, MN. The role completes letter finishing processes under supervision, with a 3:30 PM–11:00 PM schedule and on-site work.

The position includes working in a positive team-driven environment and emphasizes quality and efficiency in finishing and packing procedures. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably 2 years in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent demonstrated competency through work experience.
• Preferred: minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and ship final product;
• Operate computerized systems to facilitate shipping;
• Belt sand gates and flashing to remove roughness from metal letters/logos;
• Drill/tap letters or stud weld parts for handling or installation;
• Hand finish areas not accessible at belt sanding;
• Polish and frost finish to achieve near-mirror quality;
• Maintain awareness of orders, reworks and priorities;
• Communicate needs and questions to Lead Person or Supervisor;
• Log orders and update daily area totals;
• Support process improvements and collaborate with team.

Gemini is looking for a Production Finisher to join the team at our location in Cannon Falls, MN! This position is responsible for working under general supervision demonstrating high proficiency in every step of the letter finishing process in accordance with current job procedures. Wage Range:USD $21.30 - $27.92 per Hour (Posted range is inclusive of 2nd Shift premium)
Location: Cannon Falls, MN
Type: Full Time – On-site
Schedule:5/8 hour days; 3:30 PM to 11:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
- Overtime is scheduled as needed.

A day in the life of a Production Finisher at Gemini includes:

• Inspects, builds shipping containers and ships final product
• Uses computerized systems to facilitate the shipping of products
• Belt sands gates, flashing, and unwanted roughness from the returns of metal letters and logos.
• Drills and taps letters or stud weld parts for further handling or customer installation.
• Hand finishes the areas on parts that were not accessible at belt sanding.
• Blasts the returns of parts to create a consistent, uniform frosted finish.
• Polishes parts to a “near mirror” consistent finish.
• Washes parts to remove polishing compounds or unwanted residue from the finishing process.
• Stroke sands parts to remove the rough outer layer and create a smooth, consistent finish necessary for painting, polishing, or anodizing.
• Edges and racks parts according to color and requested ship date.
• Maintains a thorough awareness of order dates, reworks, and remakes, plus prioritize workflow accordingly.
• Communicates needs, problems, questions, and ideas with Lead Person or Supervisor.
• Signs and dates quality check sheets after correct completion of the order.
• Logs completed orders and updates the daily area dollar total after the finishing, stroke sanding, and polishing areas.
• Maintains an awareness of and strives to achieve all plant goals.
• Maintains an awareness of inventories/supplies and notifies Lead Person to reorder.
• Maintains an awareness of the means by which process improvements can be achieved and makes related recommendations to Department Supervisor.
• Maintains a positive and productive working relationship with all department employees, Leads, and Supervisors.
• Follows all safe work practices as outlined in company Safety policies.
• Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.
• May perform reasonably similar duties as assigned. This may include backup/helper in anodizing, painting, pouring, timesaving, shipping, oxidizing, patina, and other departments.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis

Education and Experience

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent demonstrated competency through work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
