Job Description:
A Production Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components through the production process to meet scheduled deadlines. They coordinate with internal suppliers and internal teams to resolve delays, address bottlenecks, and expedite the delivery of materials when necessary. The role involves monitoring production schedules, tracking work-in-progress, and adjusting timelines as needed to keep operations on track. Additionally, production expeditors ensure that production targets are met, minimizing downtime and maintaining efficiency across the production line.
What You'll Do:
  • Monitor Production Schedules: Track and update the status of ongoing production processes, ensuring that timelines are met and materials are available when needed to avoid delays.
  • Coordinate with Teams and Suppliers: Communicate with procurement, warehouse, and vendors to expedite the delivery of materials, resolve any shortages, and address any supply chain issues.
  • Resolve Bottlenecks and Adjust Timelines: Identify and address potential production delays, adjusting schedules or reallocating resources to maintain smooth operations and minimize downtime.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though an associate's degree or higher in manufacturing, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or logistics is required, with a preference for experience in production scheduling, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain attention to detail is important.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production scheduling software, and inventory management systems (e.g., ERP or MRP systems) is required.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with various departments, suppliers, and vendors to resolve issues and keep production on track.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • APICS certification preferred
